A fun way to start your Saturday morning! Go to the Gables Inn located on the Mountain Road and follow the signs for the softball game. Free Fly Fishing Casting Clinics
Come learn to fly fish with us on our stocked trout pond using specially designed training techniques for the average beginner or the "fish out of water". During our 2-hour clinic, we will teach you both the roll cast and false cast, as well as briefly educate you on the aquatic life of our native trout & its specific food sources. Call us at the Fly Rod Shop to join us for our FREE casting clinic. All equipment is provided, class limited to 10, call to reserve your space. Ask us about our Daily Guided Fishing Tours.

Evening at Sterling Pond
Hike Vermont's Long Trail north to Elephants Head Trail and Sterling Pond. Moderate level of difficulty, 4.8 miles. Interested hikers should meet at 6 p.m. at the Route 108 Long Trail crossing in Stowe. For more information, contact Bruce Bushey, 893-2146 or BrBshey@verizon.net.

Higher Ground presents Michael Franti & Spearhead. Michael Franti is the creator and driving force behind Michael Franti & Spearhead, a band that blends hip hop with a variety of other styles including funk, reggae, jazz, folk, and rock. He is also an outspoken supporter for a wide spectrum of peace and social justice issues. Tickets $30 in advance.

Higher Ground presents Gregory Douglass with Syd. With 5 critically acclaimed, independent CDs under his belt, Douglass delivers the songwriting skills of an "old soul" and "the voice of an angel" (Seven Days). His evocative amalgamation of contemporary folk, pop, and rock have been compared to Tori Amos, Jeff Buckley, Patty Griffin & Rufus Wainwright. Emerging in the wake of Dave Matthews' tremendous success, Syd is another dynamic performer that relies on an uptempo sounds and percussive guitar style. Born in raised in Vermont, Syd started as a drummer but moved to the guitar at the age of 15. Tickets $11 in advance.

Built to Spill
Higher Ground presents Built to Spill. Built to Spill was formed in 1992 by Doug Martsch. The band released 'You in Reverse' last year--the group's first studio album in five years. Martsch has cited Dinosaur Jr.'s J Mascis' style of heavy, catchy guitar hooks as an influence on what has come to be Built to Spill's call sign. The band has also cited Neil Young, Pavement and Camper Van Beethoven as influences. Built to Spill has been cited as an important influence for fellow indie rockers Modest Mouse and Death Cab for Cutie. Tickets $16 in advance.

Music in the Meadow
Stowe Performing Arts presents Terrance Simien and the Zydeco Experience. The concert is held at the historic Trapp Family Lodge and spectators sit in the grassy meadow and watch the sunset while listening to the music and picnic. Fireworks at the conclusion of the concert. Bring a blanket, folding chair or something to sit on.

The Best of Boston North Shore Comedy Tour
Robbie Printz won the 2002 Boston Comedy Festival. In 2003 The Improper Bostonian named Robbie Boston's Best Comedy Act in their Best of Boston 2003 article. Robbie has been seen on MTV, Comedy Central and VH1.
Rob Steen has been doing comedy for 18 years. He began as a street performer at the age of 12 in Boston MA. Using his juggling and improv skills he decided to try Stand-Up! Rob has been featured on several TV shows including The Late Show with Dave Letterman where he is a frequent guest. Tickets $12 in advance.

Open Farm and Studio Tour (free admission)
Farmers, artists and artisans in the Lake Champlain Islands will open their premises to visitors. This is an opportunity to see what goes on "behind the scenes", to sample the unique products of our farms and to watch the creative process of our artists at work. Maps will be available at the Alburgh, St Albans and Williston, Vermont Welcome Centers, the Lake Champlain Islands Chamber of Commerce and other outlets.
